"Go Green Action Plan" Initiative

 "Green Economy", a new mode of economic development aiming to reach harmony between social economy and natural environment, is an integrated approach and strategy to sustainable development advocated by the United Nations. It is one of China's basic state policies to develop green economy, make prudent use of natural resources and protect environment, and as an integral part of the national economy on which the meeting of a country's greenhouse gas emission targets highly depends, all enterprises shall take their own responsibilities in this regard. Each enterprise shall raise its awareness of green economic development, transform its mode of growth, and make its own contribution to the sustainable and healthy development of our national economy, keeping in mind China's international commitments on such issues. China Association of Women Entrepreneurs (CAWE), as China's national association of women entrepreneurs with the Consultative Status at the United Nations Economic and Social Council, hereby proposes this initiative to all members. In order to implement the basic state policy of our country, promote the goals and targets of the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" Outline, and contribute to the achievement of UN Millennium Development Goals, CAWE calls for women entrepreneurs all over the country to:

1.Pursue a comprehensive, balanced and sustainable development, stick to a people-oriented outlook of scientific development in preparing business strategies, and further speed up the transformation of growth mode in your enterprise.

2. Adopt an innovative management approach, and try to identify the major problems within your enterprise that negatively impact its healthy development before drafting your business strategies and implementation roadmaps during the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" period.

3.Develop an enterprise-wide Go Green Action Plan, promote technological innovations by adopting new technologies, new material and new working processes; increase investment in R&D of green products, take efforts to create green brands, green products and green services.

4.Abide by the laws and regulations related to emission reduction and energy conservation, make a conscious effort to use natural resources and energy more efficiently and to mitigate pollution to the environment; promote low-carbon technologies, integrate the concept and practices of environmental protection, energy conservation and emission reduction into the whole industrial chain of the enterprise including production, distribution and consumption, so as to meet the enterprise's corporate and social responsibilities.

5.Promote emerging industries of strategic importance in the development and expansion of your own business, making your own contribution to the prosperity of China's industrialized, information-based, urbanized and globalized market economy.

Green economy is for the common interest of all mankind. We warmly welcome enterprises from all countries to join us for the promotion and development of green economy, and sincerely hope women entrepreneurs all over the world may share the opportunities and achievements brought about by China's prosperity and progress. We wish to build a green and beautiful home for all mankind hand in hand with you!
